Big News! Our dream has come full circle and The Cabins of Elk Run has been lovingly bought by the Lowe Family and will continue the legacy of hospitality as Gap Creek Cabins. Meet Blake & his family at www.gapcreekcabins.com and book your next adventure.
Elk Run had been a dream of ours for a very long time. In 2007 when Dennis and I relocated back stateside following twelve years working in tourism in the Caribbean we knew that was the time to move to the Cumberland Plateau and develop our beautiful property on Low Gap Road.
The story of how we found and fell in love with North Eastern Tennessee is a story in itself but we always knew that one day we would call it HOME. We also knew we wanted to develop a tourism product that we could share and introduce our guests to this natural recreational gem.
We love the outdoors! Our experiences from whitewater rafting to mountain biking have kept us submerged in the natural beauty of some wonderful places. Here on the Cumberland Plateau we are blessed with a recreational back yard that is second to none.
The location of the CABINS OF ELK RUN finds itself surrounded by 44,000 acres of natural wilderness and 300+ miles of off-road trails managed by Brimstone Recreation and TWRA (Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency) offering some of the best OHV trails in the eastern United States.
The entrance onto the #2 trail into Brimstone is located on Elk Run property. This lends itself to a unique situation that allows our guests direct access to the trails without trailering.
We also love to take our motorcycle and hit the roads less traveled that surround us. A few of the more known rides include Devils Triangle, Aces & Eights and the scenic roads through and around the Big South Fork National River & Recreation Area never disappoint in quality and beauty.
The Big South Fork National Recreation Area is only minutes away and encompasses 125,000 acres of scenic mountain gorges & sandstone bluffs straddling & protecting the Big South Fork of the Cumberland River and it’s tributaries offering a protected area for horseback riding, hiking, mountain biking, canoe & kayaking, photography, hunting, fishing and picnicking. This beautiful river and gorge is not to be missed.
We invite you to come and enjoy the Cabins of Elk Run. Play in our backyard and learn by experience why Dennis and I fell in love with Scott County and the Cumberland Plateau of Eastern Tennessee! Call or text today & reserve your next adventure {423-215-8008),
We are sad to include in our story that we unexpectantly lost our beloved Dennis in June of 2017. Although greatly missed by all his presence lives on here at Elk Run.
